Thousands of Christians and pilgrims visit biblical sites in Israel each year. Now, they can also join a new tour at the Israel Museum at Jerusalem that showcases artifacts from the time of Jesus, Charisma News reports.

Called the “Cradle of Christianity” tour, visitors can enjoy various exhibits that show what Jerusalem looked like when Jesus was alive more than 2,000 years ago. The first stop of this exciting tour is a giant model of Jerusalem during the Second Jewish Temple period.

“This is Jerusalem that Jesus knew. This is Jerusalem that Herod the Great built,” said David Mevorach, senior curator of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Archaeology at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

According to CBN News, the model is built in a scale of 1 to 50 and shows the important sites that Jesus went through, including the pools of Bethesda where Jesus performed one of his miracles.

Visitors can also see two important artifacts during the tour. Mevorach said one is an inscription in Hebrew, a sign for the priest to stand and blow the horn for the entrance of Saturday, meaning the time to cease work and again at the exit of Saturday, when you can resume work.

The other artifact is a sign in Greek which is the parameter surrounding the Temple itself in the Temple Mount. The sign prevents Gentiles from entering the Temple.

Mevorach revealed that there are other rare artifacts that directly relate to historical figures including items used during the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.
